A Client may choose:

  • a Consultation,

  • a Design for a garden,

  • partial or complete implementation,

  • Containers for an outdoor porch or inside space

  • a waterer (temporary or regular)

  • a pruner, a garden replenish, new plants

  • a spring or fall cleanup,

  • irrigation

  • lighting systems

Whether you dream of an outdoor refuge for butterflies or a unique garden oasis a garden designer is ready to bring your vision to life.

I  want you to love your yard!

Flourish Gardens specializes in Consultation, Garden Design and Containers for indoor and outdoor spaces, transforming yard and patio into colorful, restful retreats.

Not every Client needs a Design, but an initial Consultation is essential.  While a Consultation costs $100, a portion of the Consult becomes a discount towards the next step.

A Design is thoroughly researched with each Client's specific criteria in mind.  Essentially, the Client's goals become mine.

I have over five years experience with repeat Container customers;  I buy, deliver and plant.

Whatever direction the Consult takes, I listen and balance the Client's dreams with expert innovation to create a unique garden space that is an extension of the Client's taste and style.

I can simply help with clean up, pruning and visualization, working alongside a Client,  or  I am ready to take on the project from start to finish, implementing my holistic Design with the coordination of my Preferred Vendors.

Ultimately, I believe creation of garden spaces is a progressive pursuit; most plants take two years to become established in their new spaces, so I do not plant and disappear.  Clients seem to morph as do gardens;  once plants start showing off, the subsequent delight is hard to suppress.  The Client begins to connect to their garden and many return with more requests.

The main goal of Flourish Gardens will always be happy plants and happy Clients.

About
Linda Pappas

How did I Become A Garden Designer?

"I think I just always was; the only thing I did

was grow with it."

IMG_1820.jpg

Even as a young child I would collect tiny violets in the woods along a tiny tributary with its inch high waterfalls. I loved the smell of the soil and the warmth of the sun's rays dappling their way through the canopy of trees above.

My first garden took fifteen years to put in.  Solomon's Seal, Rose of Sharon, swaths of irises and echinaceas; I fell in love with "Perfect Storm" hibiscus. I replaced aging evergreens with majestic white  "Kousa" dogwood. I planted my roses and made compost tea.

I devoured books about planting trends in the northeast and craved every minute I could volunteer at The Stevens Coolidge House in North Andover, Massachusetts.

When I ran out of my own garden space, I moved on to helping others;  I have now designed and refreshed gardens from 150 to 1800 sf. and I network with greenhouses and preferred vendors from MA and NH to be able to offer even more holistic gardening expertise.

A characteristic that makes me unique is that I am adamant about finding the exact plants I choose for my designs;  I would rather travel to get what I want than substitute because my Design was planned to be exceptional.

"I remember thinking

my first greenhouse job watering in the early morning was simply heaven."

Testimonials

Linda worked with us on a tired old garden island

(30' x 80') that blocked the view from our home. She listened to our needs and thoughtfully put together a design that included flowering plants, evergreens, showpiece trees and ornamentals

that turn heads with their beauty.

We are thrilled with the color from spring to fall,

visual interest, and low maintenance that make this

a true garden space that

we can enjoy for many years to come."

Flourish Gardens saved my garden.

I was at a loss as to what to do and Linda designed a plan that is both beautiful and easy to maintain.

I am not a gardener, but she guided me on what to prune, what to remove and where to place plants and flowers that would thrive.

I now better understand how to take care of my garden.

One of my favorite new features is a stone walkway that winds and flows among the flowers. Linda is easy to work with, knows plants and how to design. I am now very happy with my flower garden."

–Marylou, Salem, NH

John McRobby, NH Stateline Consulting, Windham, NH

Linda did an outstanding job designing our garden.                    From the first meeting, she was thoughtful, organized, and incredibly helpful in understanding what we were hoping to achieve.

Her design vision really stood out as she carefully selected plants and trees that matched our color preferences

while still creating a balanced,

beautiful landscape. Even after the installation, she follows up to make sure everything is flourishing, which shows

she truly cares about her work and her clients.

We are thrilled with the results and highly recommend her."

The Process

Consultation

  • I Listen and Observe -I note the neighborhood, the house, the colors, existing vegetation, and morning and afternoon sun.

  • I ask questions,  discuss options and  how to move forward.

  • Then the Client decides- go it alone OR hire FG.

  • FG can plan, buy and plant or help with pruning, clean up and visualization.

  • IF you want a NEW garden space or a problem turned into  a beneficial insect refuge or a place to relax and have tea, then a Design is the best way to go.

$100 for approx
one hour consult
$25 discount
towards next step.

Design

  • A Design can cost between $1-$2/sq.ft            Minimum $150 depends on soil depth, existing rocks, size, light and slope.

  • A second (sit down) consultation is included in the Design price;  it is vital to ascertain what the Client loves and dislikes.

  • A meticulous scaled drawing will include photos and characteristics of all chosen plants.  This stage can take fifteen hours over a few weeks so winter is an especially good time to design.

  • A presentation of the Design includes a "ball park estimation".  Why an estimate?   Gas, plants, soil delivery, all prices fluctuate and time to implement a Design may be affected by labor timelines and possible contingencies.

Implemention

  • Design accepted, I make the garden plant-ready and plant as plants come in.  I suggest waiting for specific plant options as most plants do not become available until they are in bloom.

  •  Flourish Gardens will educate the Client as to how to maintain their garden as to watering,  pruning and deadheading.

  •  I am careful to buy thriving plants but the Client becomes responsible for watering carefully, especially for the first two years

  •  I will come back to make sure plants and Client are happy.
